PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To joint a ceramic member and a metal member while imparting a sufficiently high jointing strength to a jointed body and to prevent the occurrence of cracks in a ceramic constituting the ceramic member.;SOLUTION: The jointing structure of a metal terminal 8 and a ceramic member 1 has a jointing layer 12 interposed between the terminal 8 and the member 1, and the jointing layer 12 has a jointing metal layer 6 containing at least indium. Further, in the jointing structure of a metal member 8 and the ceramic member 1, the metal member 8 has an end surface 8a and a side surface 8b and a recessed part 4 is formed in the ceramic member 1. Further, jointing layers 12 are interposed between a bottom surface 4a of the recessed part 4 and the end surface 8a of the metal member 8 and between the side surface 4b of the recessed part 4 and the side surface 8b of the metal member 8, respectively, and the jointing layer 12 has a jointing metal layer 6 containing at least indium.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
