Invited Paper: Human Vision in Complex Environments

摘要

Acuity, attention, and working memory all limit the acquisition of information by human subjects in natural environments. We show that stimulus salience is a relatively minor factor. Instead, information is selectively acquired to subserve specific behavioral goals, and relies heavily on learning the statistical structure of the environment.
