摘要

One of the most crucial investigations in the development of a novel drug is the so-called Absorption (A), Distribution (D), Metabolism (M) and Elimination (E), i.e. ADME, study. Designed to give an overview on the chemical basis of the potential toxicity of a drug, it is thus a comprehensive exploration into the in vivo toxicokinetics of a drug exposed to an organism. ADME investigations can save the pharmaceutical industry enormous costs in drug development.
