摘要

The problems of strength and sintering are most significant in the development of new high-performance ceramics. This paper presents the results of research on the interrelation between kinetic parameters of the evolution of the porous structure during sintering, and the strength of ceramics. A combined study comprising kinetic experiments and investigations of strength depending on porosity and size of grains ensures high precision of kinetic parameters and parameters of strength. The connection between kinetic parameters of sintering with strength can serve as a base for a deterministic simulation of the production process for structural and refractory ceramics. As a result it is possible to draw a conclusion that the dependence of ceramic materials strength on porosity is found to be more complicated than it seemed earlier, due to the fact that the porosity decrease during sintering of ceramics is accompanied by an increase of polycrystal size.
