摘要

A rigorous non-GMO IP program can ensure that seed and crop producers meet non-GMO requirements worldwide. There has been a lot of press lately about the EU's new regulations on labeling and traceability of food and feed containing or produced from ge netically modified (GM) ingredients. These new regulations have sometimes been viewed as a barrier to trade or as an attempt to placate overly-wonied EU consumers. The fact is, however, that the underlying basis is not as important as recognizing that th ese regulations define the reality of the marketplace. Enforcement of the following EU GM Food & Feed Regulations is expected in early 2004. Here are the key components of the new regulations.
