10 years of ISTA Accreditation Programme: where it all started

Seed moving in international trade asthe raison d'etre for ISTA continuesto be a major commodity throughoutthe more than eighty years since the association was founded. Sowing seed ofpoor quality is still considered one of thegreatest hazards in agriculture. While themotto of ISTA, uniformity in seed testing,is unquestionably an approach to minimise that risk, the means to strive for thisgoal have seen some refinement throughthe years. More than once changes werefuelled by trends and practices in international trade.
