NDS wins slate of European contracts

Conditional-access and interactive TV specialist NDS has announced a slate of European contracts in the run-up to successful half-year results. Polish cable operator Aster has selected NDS to provide a suite of technology to enhance its pay-TV offering. NDS will provide VideoGuard conditional access, MediaHighway middleware, a customised electronic programme guide and a suite of interactive technologies to secure Aster's digital TV platform and to allow it to launch news services including digital video recording and video-on-demand. Aster has chosen set-top box vendor Kaonmedia to provide set-tops including DVRs and HD DVRs embedded with NDS technology.
