Reeling in community goodwill

Last year commercial fishermen donated electric rods and reels to the disabled fishing community. We check in with Parafed to see how they've been used. There is one thing that is lost in media coverage of debates between commercial and recreational fishermen: commercial fishermen are often recreational fishermen too. In other words, they love the job so much they do it for fun -not many people in other professions can say that. So when the New Zealand Federation of Commercial Fishermen got the chance to help disabled recreational fishermen, it seemed like a natural fit.
