Scrap import prices tumble in Asia on gloomy outlook

Sentiment in the east Asian scrap import market weakened significantly over the past week. Offer prices fell by 20-25 dollars/mt CFR East Asia to 420-430 dollars/mt CFR for bulk heavy melting scrap I/II (80:20 blend) during the week ended June 8. Bulk US-origin HMS I was previously heard to have concluded at 443 dollars/mt CFR Korea during the last week of May.
