Fortescue powering ahead with Firetail ore deposit

Australia's third largest iron ore miner announced an 1.5 billion Australia dollars (1.56 billion dollars) five-year contract with Leighton Contractors to build a mine, associated infrastructure and ore handling plants at the site, which will take Firetail to 20 million mt/year output by the end of March 2013. Fortescue also recently commissioned the second train unloader at its Herb Elliot facility at Port Hedland.
