Comsigua wants to be global HBI production leader

Venezuelan hot-briquetted iron producer Comsigua aims to eventually become the largest global HBI producer, according to its CEO Iván Hernández. At the beginning of July the company resumed HBI production after a 55-day stoppage for repairs started in mid-May. Comsigua, which didn't outline any specific capacity expansion plans, expects to reach production of 900,000 mt of HBI in 2013.
