摘要

Intel community looks to broadcasting industry for better motion imagery management. When a US Airways passenger plane ditched into the Hudson River in January, U.S. Navy Cmdr. Joe Smith was captivated by more than the video of the passengers walking to safety across the plane's wings. As an information technology expert at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, he took note of the technical power of the live television broadcasts. "You saw the actual plane itself, the video. You saw an inset with who the pilot was, and you heard the tower information. You saw a crawl of what was going on, the outside water temperature," he said. "That same type of information fusion is what we're trying to do for our soldiers and Marines and sailors and airmen on the battlefield. We want to be able to provide them not just the video, but the video with contextual information from other intelligence and operations sources."
