Liberty to acquire Tata's special steel business

Liberty House Group has entered exclusive negotiations with Tata Steel for a ?100 million acquisition of the company's special steel division. The two steelmakers announced the signing of a letter of intent on Monday to complete a long-anticipated deal. The assets include an electric arc furnace in Rotherham, bar mill in nearby Thrybergh, remelting and rolling facilities in Stocksbridge and a narrow strip mill in Brinsworth as well as service centers in Bolton and Wednesbury, UK, and in Suzhou and Xi'an, China.
