Brazilian pig iron exports down 80% on US absence

Brazil’s merchant pig iron exports in April totaled 49,936 mt, a substantial decrease of 80% from the 256,432 mt exported in the same month a year earlier, the Ministry of Development and Foreign Trade said Thursday. Month on month, exports were also down 80% from 247,061 mt in March.
