We need to eat our food as fresh, whole and unprocessed as possible in order to maintain or regain health. Natural living power food is grains, fruit, vegetables, pulses and nuts. For thousands of years people all over the world ate them in their unchanged, natural state, grown only organicly. But for the last 50-100 years a very clever food industry has been constantly trying to "improve" nature's design. God (some people might say "nature") made water, people made soft-drinks. God made sweet fruits, people extracted the white sugar to use in huge quantities. God made wholegrains, we mainly use white flour where 80% of the nutrients of the grain are lost. Through these "improvements" the food we now eat is so processed it lacks so-called vital substances, which are essential for our health. Vital substances are: vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes, unsaturated fatty acids, aromatic substances and fibre. They are destroyed or reduced through refining, heating/cooking and processing. At thesame time we've introduced pesticides, herbicides and artificial fertilisers, causing chemical residues in plants and the environment as well as a decrease in the mineral content of our food.
