IMPORTANCE OF PROPER MANAGEMENT OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE CONTROL FROM THE ASPECT OF SECURITY RISKS AND THREATS

Radioactive waste, which is a general term for all kinds of waste containing radioactive chemical elements and is practically unusuable, should be sorted and packed in an optimum way. Proper control and care of radiactive waste aims to keep radioactive waste stored in such a way to protect human health and the environment, not only in the current moment, but in a perspective, too, in order to ensure a quality life and work of generations to come. At radioactive waste management reliable options are management strategy and direct monitoring and special monitoring systems are necessary with these applications. Considering the complexity of the problem for adequate radioactive waste management, data must be collected at different stages of the procedure as well as in different periods in order to ensure adequate control of safety risks and act preventivelly in regard to legislation and procedure.
