This paper analyses the inhibition effect on the corrosion of mild steel, in sulphuric acid solution at pH 4, where a new combination of urea, Zn2+ and L-phenylalanine was used as inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency was calculated using the weight loss method. The system, urea (150 ppm) - Zn2+ (25 ppm) - L-phenylalanine (250 ppm) has 93% inhibition efficiency. The surface morphology of inhibited mild steel was analysed by FTIR spectra, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDAX).
