With rising global energy demand, the oil and gas industry in Russia has a wide range of challenges and opportunities across the upstream sector. Over recent years the Russian oil and gas industry has developed against the background of increasing pressure from the boom in production from unconventional plays in the West. At the same time Russia is attempting to change the agenda, announcing new project areas in the Arctic.
