According to Industry body, Decom North Sea. there are over 600 offshore oil and gas installations in the North Sea, 470 of which are in UK waters. As the production life of these installations comes to an end over the next decade or so, these structures are subject to strict regulations and standards, and need to be decommissioned in line with the guidelines produced by the OSI'AK convention (Oslo Paris Convention).
