摘要

The research on different techniques of plucking of tea (Camellia sinensis L.) Leaves were carried out at National Tea Research Institute, Shinkiari, District Mansehra (NWFP) in 2001. Yield of fresh leaves was obtained by using two different techniques of plucking i.e. hand plucking and shear plucking. It was observed that the various techniques of plucking were different at 5% level of significance. Two types of fresh leaves, fine (bud+2leaves) and coarse (bud+3leaves) were plucked by each technique from 11 years year old mature tea bushes at NTRI during the production season. Through hand plucking maximum (355.5 g) yield was obtained by coarse (bud+3leaves) followed by 282.2 g/treatment in fine leaves plucking. The light top leaves obtained by shear were 219.2 g/treatment. Whereas heavy from last plucking level, yield by shear 324.7 g/treatment. It was concluded that the highest yield of fresh leaves could that be obtained by adapting the coarse leaves plucking by hand..
