Organizations criticize hours-of-Service Rule

Safety and consumer groups contend that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Agency's new hour rule fails to improve truck safety.The new hours-of-service rule is scheduled to go into effect in January 2004.It uses a 21-hour drive-rest cycle and increases the number of consecutive hiours a driver can be behind the wheel form 10 hours to 11 hours.
