SAMPE's 2001 Student & Student Chapter Award Program

This issue makes the 15~(th) year that I have been presenting the SAMPE Undergraduate Award Winners to you in print and pictorial form. It has been a pleasant chore presenting these winners to you. Each one has been truly an excellent student. When we first started this presentation, the award was wide open to any student in the US or Canada. In 1992 SAMPE's student chapter roll had grown sufficiently to restrict the program to our student chapters. It was thought that the caliber of student would be reduced. If anything the caliber has been increased. In 1996 the University Research Symposium winners and the winners list for the Student Chapter Technical Proposal Contest were presented for the first time. The Faculty Advisor Awards were presented last year for the first time. Every year we present to you the winners of our four major college education programs that we provide student members and student chapters in the United States and Canada. This year, eleven schools entered at least one of these four programs. They are BYU, British Columbia, CSU/Northridge, Cincinnati, Dayton, Delaware, Maryland, Philadelphia, Pittsburg State, Washington, and Washington, and Winona State. BYU entered four of the programs. Delaware, Maryland and Philadelphia entered three.
