Changing workers compensation

In the 1970s, change swept the country. The Occupational Safety and Health Act, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Richard M. Nixon, established a nationwide standard for occupational safety oversight. Included in the bill - almost as an afterthought - was the authorization to form a national commission to review state workers' compensation laws.
