Study offers visibility tips for emergency vehicles, responders

Emmitsburg, MD - A recent report highlights the dangers of vehicle crashes and struck-by incidents - two of the leading causes of on-duty deaths among emergency responders. The Aug. 19 report from the U.S. Fire Administration and the International Fire Service Training Association found current understanding of emergency vehicle visibility and conspicuity in the United States was limited, and recommended further research into how civilian drivers negotiate emergency scenes.
