摘要

Bethesda, MD - A recent National Cancer Institute study of employees who work with formaldehyde suggests a possible link between exposure and certain cancers. The results were part of an ongoing study that examined 25,619 workers employed prior to 1966 at plants that either produce or use formaldehyde. The study found that workers with the highest level of peak exposures had a 37 percent increased risk of death from blood and lymphatic cancers compared to those with the lowest level. Likewise, the most-exposed workers had a 78 percent higher risk of death from myeloid leukemia.
