Ta-doped 0.50(Na0.5Bi0.5)TiO3-0.50(K0.5Bi0.5)TiO3 piezoelectric ceramics were synthesized by solid state reaction and the effect of doping concentration on dielectric, ferroelectric and electrical properties were investigated. Ta-doping showed an increase in depolarization (T-d) and phase transition (T-m) temperatures; thus increasing its usable temperature range. Ferroelectric properties were also enhanced in terms of increased remnant polarization and better squareness of P-E loop. In conductivity studies, activation energy was calculated and the contribution of grains to polarization mechanism was confirmed through Nyquist plots. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.
