Analysis of the 5d~3-5d~26p Transitions in a Hg X Ion

Results are presented of an experimental and theoretical analysis of the spectrum of the Hg X ion in the far VUV spectral range. The spectra were excited in the plasma of a low-inductance vacuum spark and were detected with a high-resolution grazing-incidence VUV spectrograph. For the first time, 123 spectral liens of the 5d~3-5d~26p resonance transition are identified and the energies of all the levels in the 5d~3 and 5d~26p configurations of a Hg X ion are determined. The results obtained are interpreted based on semiempirical calculations in the framework of the method of orthogonal operators.
