Exact expressions for Mueller matrices, which describe the interaction of partially polarized quasi-monochromatic light with a layer of the helical periodic medium, are obtained for the case of normal incidence with regard to multiple reflections at the borders. The wavelength dependences of the reflection coefficient, ellipticity, and the angle of rotation of the plane of polarization are presented for different values of the degree of polarization of the incident wave. The results are compared with those for the case of reflection of light from half space. The results of the influence of quasi-monochromatic light and its degree of polarization on the absorption effects revealed earlier by the author (in collaboration) are presented. The physical mechanisms of absorption of coherent radiation in the periodic systems are revealed.
