Optical Tomography of Highly Scattering Media by Using the First Transmitted Photons of Ultrashort Pulses

It is shown in the diffusion approximation that a perturbation introduced by macroinhomogeneities depends on the integral over the mean photon path with averaging over random deviations. Formulas for calculating mean paths are obtained.
