Questions of Complex Parametric Optimization of a Supersonic CW Chemical HF Laser

The results of an experimental parametric study of the effect of the total mass fuel consumption and coefficient of secondary-fuel excess on the output radiation power and optical quality of the active medium of a supersonic cw chemical HF laser of autonomous type are reported. A generalized criterion in the form of the product of the Shtr?l number (Sh) and normalized radiation power is suggested that makes it possible to carry out a complex optimization of laser parameters. With the Sh· criterion, the domains of admissible changes in total mass fuel consumption and coefficient of secondary-fuel excess are determined, in which the combination of a rather high laser radiation power and an acceptable optical quality of the active laser medium are obtained.
