It is shown that, under collisional phase memory conditions, the probability of radiation absorption is selective relative to the modulus of the velocity of resonant particles even in the case of homogeneous broadening. Together with the dependence of the relative change of the transport cross sections of particles on the velocity upon optical excitation, this may result in an unusual dependence of the velocity of light-induced drift (LID) on the radiation frequency and in a radical change in the temperature behavior of the LID spectrum.
