摘要

Optical interference filters have been important elements in modern optical communication systems, biomedical applications, astronomy and many others; therefore, optimal design of these filters before fabrication is essential task. Particle swarm optimization algorithm was employed in order to reach a global optimal design for optical interference filters. The performance of the proposed method was compared to that of the needle method and the genetic algorithm optimization techniques and it was found to outperform the other two in reaching a global design solution.
