Malik et al. describe an "Isolated Cavernous Hemangi-oma" of the conjunctiva. Unfortunately their use of terminology in relation to this lesion is incorrect.Mulliken and Glowacki in 1982 described the current classification and terminology of vascular lesions. Some minor modifications to the classification were suggested in 1996 by the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies, and a further modification was suggested by Waner and Suen in 1999.Essentially vascular lesions are divided into 2 main categories: a) vascular tumors (including hemangiomas) and b) vascular malformations. The vascular malformations can be divided into low flow (venous), high flow (arterial), and lymphatic.
