Despite running hard to create value for their shareholders last year,producers of conventional oil and gas in Canada only managed to increase their net asset values,or NAVs,by a disappointing 14 per cent in 2007.Their efforts were undermined by expectations of higher operating and development costs on the one hand,and a rising tide of debt on the other.
