It's no secret that Canada's oil barrel is getting heavier.Between the massive bitumen extraction efforts'underway around Fort McMurray,and more recently in the Peace River region and in northwestern Saskatchewan,and a growing list of conventional heavy oil projects both in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and offshore the east coast(let's not forget that Chevron Canada's Hebron field on the Grand Banks contains up to 700 million barrels of heavy oil),relatively little of what Canada produces attracts that magic benchmark price-which recently hit the US100 per barrel mark-we see quoted everywhere.
