摘要

This recurring column provides occupational therapy educator and practitioners with possible sources of new teaching techniques that are grounded in theory and presented in a pragmatic manner. We strive to present materials that can be used in designing and delivering education programs for a variety of audiences. This edition of the column offers an approach to providing a continuing professional education program for practicing occupational therapy personnel. Most state practice acts require that occupational therapy practitioners engage in some form of professional development activity in order to maintain continued competence. Dr. Gorenberg presents a continuing professional education workshop model that has been used to enhance practitioners' therapeutic relationships with clients and their families/caregivers. The tables provide practical suggestions of learning strategies that readers can use when developing their own continuing education offerings.
