OCLC Institute goes international in Latvia and Russia

In June, Martin Dillon, executive director of the OCLC Institute, presented "Electronic Information and the Future of Libraries" in Riga, Latvia, and St. Petersburg, Russia. The two-day seminars, funded by the United States Information Agency, coveredtrends in technology and their relevance to libraries. This trip was a wonderful opportunity for me to share with and to learn from our librarian colleagues in these two countries," said Dr Dillon. "I found that my Russian and Latvian hosts were particularly interested in electronic information, its availability on the Internet, and how libraries must change to accommodate it."
