NKT cell adjuvants in therapeutic vaccines against hematological cancers.

Immune adjuvants aimed at initiating or re-activating host immunity againstpoorly immunogenic cancers represent a potential tool for immunotherapy. Byemploying the natural killer T (NKT) cell agonist α-galactosylceramide in a wholetumor cell therapeutic vaccine approach, we have achieved potent suppression ofestablished hematological cancers upon the elicitation of innate and adaptiveantitumor immunity.
