Breast cancer spread to distant sites is often incurable. Our recent findingsdemonstrate that Type I interferons secreted by tumor cells induceanti-metastatic immune responses that prevent breast cancer metastasis to thebone. This provides novel insights into the importance of the crosstalk betweenneoplastic and immune cells in the metastatic process.
