Chu Awards Biofuels Funding

Energy Secretary Steven Chu has award- ed almost $80 million in economic stimu- lus funding to two consortia that are con- ducting research into advanced biofuels. The National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts (NAABB) — led by the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center — will receive $44 million to help it develop methods for commercial pro- duction of biofuels from algae.
