The Obama administration's mid-year budget review continues to target tax breaks for oil and gas producers to the tune of $36 billion through 2019, up from an original estimate of $31 billion published in February. The administration sees the elimination of oil industry tax breaks as one of the few revenue-generating methods available at a time of deep recession and record budget deficits.
