Crude oil prices fell by nearly 30% in the first 20 days of the month, sending Brent below $30/bbl for the first time in 12 years. Futures markets then bottomed-out with prompt Brent at $27.88/bbl, before rallying. Brent prices rose further on news of possible talks between OPEC and Russia over production cuts, closing-out the month at $34.74. In the US, the price of one crude, North Dakota Sour, entered negative territory when Flint Hills Resources posted a price of minus 50 cents/bbl as the price it was willing to pay to sellers of the crude.
