SPE Moscow Section Turns 20

The regular monthly meeting of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Moscow section took place in early December. In recent years, the gatherings have been popular among engineers and industry leaders alike; this time, rather than joining yet another traditional seminar on upstream issues, they were treated to a ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Moscow-based SPE section. Founded in 1992, the Moscow section was among the first sections of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers established in Russia and the Caspian region. Today it is a regional leader by the member count - 600 members, or more than 30 percent of the region's total.
