Perceptions of Predictive Maintenance technologies: Top ranked ROI potential

Predictive Maintenance and Production Asset Optimization are highly favoured Digital Oilfield technology applications in terms of ROI, ranking as the top two of 10 use cases surveyed. In aggregate, 64 per cent of respondents ranked Predictive Maintenance as strong or the strongest for perceived ROI, a slight uptick from 2015, which represents the highest score of any use case in our survey in both the years it has been conducted. In today's punishing oil and gas price environment, this bodes well for the potential for Predictive Maintenance to present a strong argument to clearing budgetary hurdles as companies continue to pare back spending yet seek ways to get a leg up on the competition and prepare for an eventual return of a stronger commodity price environment.
