Cementing Asian relationships

The joint initiatives signed recently by Canada and China for cooperation on energy will strengthen Canada's position as a safe, secure and reliable global energy provider and help advance opportunities to export industry technology—in both operations and environment—to Asian markets. Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announced the new and renewed joint initiatives related to energy, natural resources, science and technology during the prime minister's trip to China in February.
