In West Africa, contractors remain bullish regarding the deepwater market, as new demand continues to emerge for 2012. The standard floater market (<3,000ft) remains challenging for contractors: three previously stacked units have been reactivated this year, although four of the five marketed standard floaters remain available before the end of 2011. The jackup market started the year with total supply of 30 units but this will have increased to 35 by November once Atwood Aurora and Maersk Endurer arrive from the Mediterranean. At least 10 marketed jackups are available for charter before the end of 2011.
