The induction-channel-furnaces, actually usedfor melting copper alloys in non-ferrous metals industry, aretreated of, with the specifity of their construction and appliedfire-proof lining. The causes of hears-formation on the furnace-walls during melting of lead brass and high-nickel-brass andthe chemical analysis of the bears-composition are presented.The results of comparative studies and industrial tests ofapplication of new fluxes for lead-brass and high-nickel-brass,worked up by Instytut Metali Niezelaznych in Gliwice andPrzedsiebiorstwo Dostaw Materialów Odlewniczych PEDMOS.A. in Tychy, are compiled.
