RUSSIA BOOSTS IRON ORE EXPORTS 16.5 PERCENT IN 7 MONTHS

Russia raised iron ore exports 16.5 percent year-on-year in January-July to 12.96 million tonnes, Rudprom, the agency that collates statistics about ore producers, told Interfax on August 29. Russia exported 4.33 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate, up 12.1 percent year-on-year, and 657,000 tonnes of briquettes, up 20.6 percent and 7.66 million tonnes of pellets, up 22 percent, but 310,000 tonnes of sintering ore, down 29.1 percent.
