We presented a brief survey of computing techniques to evaluate the tonal noises that are due to the gas-dynamic rotor-stator interaction between the fan and the straightener. We considered the problems on simulation of the nonstationary gasdynamic interaction between the rotor and stator and examine the intensity of tonal noise sources as applied to three different geometries of the straightener blades of turbofan engines. We also proposed a technique to evaluate the tonal noise source intensity for these different geometries and showed the ways of changing the design in an effort to decrease further the noise level in the fan stage of turbofan engines.
