RUSAL'S NGZ BOOSTS ALUMINA OUTPUT 4 percent IN H1

Russian Aluminum's Nikolayev Alumina Refinery (NGZ), the largest producer of alumina in the CIS, increased production by 4.2 percent year-on-year to 696,630 tonnes in the first half of 2006. NGZ said it produced 115,225 tonnes of alumina in June alone. NGZ said production grew as a result of a program to expand the refinery's capacity from 1.1 million to 1.4 million tonnes per year. The refinery's main partner in this program is the Metallurg service center in Nikolayev.
